What is a Carrier Code and how do I get it?

The Carrier Code is a four-digit number or alphanumeric code that is obtained by applying to the CCRA (Canada Custom's & Revenue Agency). The code is usually assigned within three business days of receipt of the application. For more information, contact the Canada Border Services Agency at 800-461-9999 inside Canada or 204-983-3500 outside Canada.

What is a PARS label?

PARS (Pre-Arrival Release System) barcode labels are required for all shipments crossing into Canada. Up to 30 days before goods arrive in Canada, importers or their agents submit release documents to the Customs Broker what will clear the goods.
What information do you need to print my PARS labels?

- Your 4-digit Carrier Code that is assigned by Canadian Customs.
- Your Shipping Address - Please note we cannot ship to PO Boxes.

Do you know the next number in my barcode sequence?

Yes, we keep the last sequence we printed for you on file. However, as a safety precaution, it is a good idea to make a note of the last number and specify that number on reorders. You can't reuse the same number for three years.

How many labels do I need per sequence number?
+
These labels are produced in sets of 2 and sequentially numbered. Some shipments may require 3 to 5 copies. If you require more than 2 please let us know when you place your order.
I need a PAPS label right away. Can you email a label to me?

Absolutely. We understand you don't always have time to wait for your order to arrive. We can email you a .pdf of the first label on the roll. We will then remove that label from the roll we ship to you so there isn't a chance of the number accidentally being used again.
What is a PAPS label?

PAPS (Pre-Arrival Processing System) is a required labeling system used to expedite the clearance of goods into the United States. These labels are produced in sets of two and are sequentially numbered. Some shipments may require three to five copies. If you require more than two copies, please contact us Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time at (800) 433-0309 or E-mail customerservice@weprintbarcodes.com.
What is a SCAC code and how do I get it?

The SCAC code is assigned by the National Motor Freight Traffic Association, Inc. (703) 838-1810. There is a $97.00 (US) fee for the code that must be renewed annually. This process can take one to two weeks.
